An open quote.
Having access to the Becket Collection has been invaluable for me. To be able to learn using an instrument that is top quality means you are unhindered in your progression, in stark contrast to many other instruments that students are usually forced to borrow when they are starting off and cannot afford their own. The instrument I borrowed saw me successfully audition for the OAE/Jerwood scheme and I have since used it on numerous occasions to play professionally. I have recently bought my own bassoon.. the same make and a similar model to the ones in the Becket Collection!

PGdip course at the RAM 2000-2002
The Becket Collection has collected the instruments of small chamber orchestras of the classical period, in the first instance entirely British instruments, both eighteenth-century originals and copies of eighteenth-century instruments. This collection is on loan to the Royal Academy of Music.
